🌍 THE WORLD
Where the line between “normal” and “para” isn’t just blurred—it’s buried six feet under.
🏙️ The City
Fog-drenched, neon-lit, and never quite asleep, this modern noir city is home to more than traffic and coffee shops.
Here, power lines hum with old magic, alleys shift when no one’s looking, and monsters still ride in taxis—most of them in business casual.
🧬 Normal vs. Para
In this world, there are two kinds of people:
- Normals—Humans who live mostly trying to ignore the truths lurking beneath reality—or try twisting it to their benefit.
- Paras—Those with abilities, bloodlines, or origins outside the strictly mundane. Banshees. Vampires. Lamia. Familiars. Witches. And things best not named.
The tension between the two groups has always existed. Laws try to keep order. Secrets do the rest.
⚖️ Para Crimes Division (PCD)
When a crime scene doesn’t make sense blood drained, mirrors cracked inward, no sign of entry—the PCD steps in.
They don’t always get along with the likes of Sable Duvane, but they do keep the peace. Barely.
🩸 Regulated Blood & the CBSS
Vampires, if licensed, can buy legally sourced blood through the Centralized Blood Supply Service (CBSS).
Unlicensed paras who feed illegally risk fines, exposure… or worse.
Don’t ask about the blood-flavor warmers unless you’re ready to gag or be impressed. Possibly both.
☠️ Some Things Don’t Stay Dead
Ghosts. Echoes. Revenants. Cursed artifacts.
Some paras leave behind more than a body. And some objects don’t want to be found.
🐾 What About Familiars?
No one’s quite sure where familiars come from. Some are born. Some are bound.
Some, like Pye (don’t use her full name), just show up—and refuse to leave.
This world is still unfolding. Every case pulls another thread.
